MineARC Continues Strong Growth in South America

Since opening in March 2011 the MineARC South American office in Santiago, Chile, has enjoyed continued growth. Our office and warehousing facilities have expanded business capabilities allowing us to continue the exceptional service that MineARC customers world wide have grown to expect.

Most recently MineARC South America has received its largest service contract to date from Codelco Chuquicamata. The contract runs well into 2012 under Codelco ownership with negotiations to continue to be entered into at the current contracts completion.

Permanent Refuge Chambers on the Rise

MineARC has recently seen a large rise in the number of mines world wide implementing our patented Permanent Hard Rock Refuge Chamber technology. In the past few months seven Permanent Chambers have been installed in mines across Australia, Turkey and the Philippines, in new and existing excavations and often doubling as lunch rooms.

COS (Aus)

The MineARC Change-Over-Station (COS) is designed to aid miners as they exit the mine; providing a safe and secure ‘staging-post’ stocked with up to 40 self-rescuers (SCSR’s), depending on make/model. A secondary model also houses a CABA quick fill station (COS-CABA), including additional air cylinder storage and ‘quick fill’ ports both inside and outside, meaning personnel can refill their breathing apparatus without having to
enter the COS.

Standard (Aus)

The standard Australian/New Zealand CoalSAFE Refuge Chamber model has been designed specifically for the Aus/NZ underground coal industry - providing a long-term safety option where personnel can gather and await extraction. The CoalSAFE should only be used as a last resort in situations where evacuating the mine is no-longer safe or practical.

Fires, floods, rock-falls, explosions and the release of smoke and other forms of toxic gas (such as methane) can block escape routes and leave personnel injured or simply overwhelmed.

SH-PL w/ Vestibule

Chemical processing facilities handle an assortment of products that can be harmful to workers lives if released into the atmosphere. A Powerless MineARC Systems Safe Haven (SH-PL) is purpose built for surface facilities and provides immediate refuge in the event of an accidental release or explosion.

HRM 26

MineARC Electrical HRM (Hard Rock Mine) Refuges have emerged as the number one selling mine refuge in the world, as a result of over a decade of research and development along with an inherent understanding of underground safety requirements. The HRM has been developed and refined in co-operation with leading mining companies worldwide, and is the only HRM refuge model in the world to comply in full with the 2009 West Australian Guidelines for Refuge Chambers in Metalliferous [Hard-Rock] Mines (see link below).
