MineARC’s® patented FireARC refuge chamber features the most advanced life-saving technology of its kind in the world.

The FireARC features an intrinsically safe (non-electrically powered) carbon dioxide (CO2) scrubbing system with integrated air cooling, housed in an air-tight, fire resistant, 5mm thick steel frame. For added protection, the chamber itself can be clad with an additional 5mm thick ‘Dura-Steel’ plate - tested to withstand temperatures of up to 2000°C. After years of industry experience, backed by proven independent testing, MineARC® recognises that internal cooling is essential in combating the potentially fatal effects of ‘transient heat’ (from external conditions), as well as the internal metabolic heat buildup emitted by the chamber’s occupants. Whereas, the integrated scrubbing system provides a constant supply of oxygen to the chamber, whilst removing the buildup of potentially harmful levels of CO2.
